Wayfinding Signage Design / Color Scheme

Seongju County in Gyeongbuk is carrying out an urban regeneration New Deal project to revitalize its old downtown area and create new engines of growth. In Phase 1, the construction of the “Creative Culture Center” near the old public terminal transformed a neglected area into a cultural hub, boosting local commerce and foot traffic. Phase 2 focuses on establishing integrated facilities encompassing culture, welfare, and administration—such as the “Administrative Complex Center” and “Cultural Plaza”—to enhance public services and community engagement. In alignment with this initiative, the project developed the interior and exterior signage system and color design for the area. The signage design aimed to set a new standard for Seongju while balancing functionality with aesthetics. Utilizing geometric elements such as dots and lines, the system achieved a clear and minimal visual identity that reflects the county’s character, enhances urban readability, and contributes to strengthening Seongju’s local brand image.
